In 1987, I bought my first Nova. It was a 1967 Nova SS, and I bought it for $300. I had done a full Pro touring car, but was bored with the automatic transmission. It was then that I found my next Nova — by pure accident.

I was looking for Nova parts, and this guy had 1967 Nova SS Canadian car in his garage. I asked if he was selling the Nova. Unfortunately, he said wasn’t selling it at the time, but about two months later he called me. He was ready to part with it. The car was local, so we quickly made a deal.

I picked the car up along with dozens of parts and took her home.

It sat in my driveway for a year or so until I sold my first Nova. Once I sold my first Nova, I went to town on this Canadian-built Nova SS. I wanted this car to be unique and it is.

This was a full-blown restomod/pro touring car. It took some time since it was a full rotisserie build with the works, but I can confidently say it is the only car I’ve seen with a stock sheet metal engine but with an LS9 engine.

I still have all the goodies, Church Boys Racing, Wilwood, etc. Everyone looks when I drive through town.
