This car has been a long time coming.

I started looking for a ’67 Chevy Nova a few years ago, but I never pulled the trigger until April of this year! I love the “boxiness” and hard lines of the Gen I Nova’s — specifically the ’66-’67 with the laid back C-Pillar.

The timeless black softens the lines just enough.

This Nova has a true “118” V-8 SuperSport with Period Correct 300hp 327, 4-Speed Muncie M22 Rock Crusher, and 10 bolt 3.55 Eaton posi-traction. It sports factory interior with performance/appearance upgrades including:

  • 2” Factory Cowl Hood
  • Lakeshore 2” Drop IFS (Coil Overs, Tubular A-Arms, Rack & Pinion Steering, and Disc Brakes)
  • Smooth Firewall and Wheel Wells
  • Calvert “Split Mono Leaf” (1” drop)
  • 2.5” Flowmaster Exhaust
  • 15” Rally Wheels
  • And Vintage Air

I love cruising around the streets here in Kansas City! We’re ALWAYS getting thumbs up and folks breaking their necks to see this machine! We plan for fuel stops to last about 15 minutes because of the attention she draws…the mild cam helps draw them in also!

At some point, I have plans to put a full frame under it from TCS, The Rod Shop, or Chris Alston. I’m also considering doing the Hot Rod Power Tour if it comes to the Midwest.

I have begun a dialog with TCI for their torque arm or four link upgrade…I want to get the front and back talking to one another better! At some point in the future, I also want an increased footprint in the rear.

But for now, I plan on enjoying my ride down the streets of Kansas City!

Nova Info

Engine & Transmission

  • “Period Correct” 327 and Muncie 4-speed Rock Crusher out of a late 60s Camaro.
  • Mild 350HP build with some compression, 272 cam, upgraded rockers, aluminum intake, 4-barrel, finned valve covers and air cleaner, and headers.
  • 2.5″ duals run past the sought-after Muncie M22 to the Flowmaster 40 series mufflers before getting to the 10-bolt 3.55 geared rear-end and dumping right after the wheel wells… just like it came from the factory.

Wheels & Tires:

  • Upgraded 15″ Rallye’s wrapped in BFG Radial T/As… considering redlines when these tires wear out (of course the back tires will go first!)

Body

  • All sheet metal, glass, mounts, fittings, gaskets were replaced

Suspension

  • Mustang II IFS out front (A-arm, disk brakes, rack & pinion, inner fender panels) with a Calvert mono-leaf rear suspension, drums, and adjustable shocks.

Interior

  • All soft and hard items were replaced (again, love it!)
  • Pics don’t show it but, recently added the Vintage Air plenum to get air moving in the cabin.
  • Triple gauges and tack will go low and in front of the center console.
