Let’s get one thing straight… These were 1974 Novas not 1976.

We had the honor of owning this sweet ride about a decade ago. We bought it from a guy named Larry in Roscoe, Illinois and it did not disappoint! It is still one of the nicest one’s we have seen. It even had the factory camping tent in the original box!

The 1974 Spirit of America Nova was produced by Chevrolet in anticipation of the United States bicentennial in 1976. These limited edition custom hatch-back coupes were painted in US-patriotic colors and featured a variety of rare options.

Most famously, these special Novas were marked with a custom logo following the style of The Spirit of America series.

Hello, Question for you, the center caps, were they used on other cars before the 74 Nova's ? I have a 74 SS with these caps but in some photo's they have different ones. I see the picture of The Spirit of America with my caps. Any info would be great, Thanks...

Nice SOA Nova. Not many of them left. I purchased one as my first car in 1981 and still have it. Restored in back in 2012. While working on it, I found another one in upstate NY and bought it for parts. Then found another on in Virginia. So I now have two fully restored SOA Nova twins... Both are exactly the same except one has black seat belts and the other red. In regards to the center hub caps, Chevy did make other similar hubs to the SOA's. The center decal is all black with CHEVROLET in a circular pattern. They were on other year Nova's. The SOA caps are bright chrome. Some of the other style are an argent silver color. If you need the SOA center caps, I had them remade and sell them on eBay. Just do a search on Spirit of America Nova.

My husband and I still have the 1974 Spirit of America Nova that we purchased new in 1974. We had a frame off restoration done on it in 2008. From bringing our babies home from the hospital to evenings at the drive-in movies with our three kids in the hatchback to meeting other car enthusiasts at car shows, our SOA Nova is like an old friend.
