Nine years back, my buddy took on a hefty project: building a car from nearly the ground up. It was no easy feat, and progress was, quite frankly, slow. Over those years, I’d seen various cars come into my life, but I kept my eye on his.

It was a beauty — a ’65 Acadian.

It was nearly untouched, showing just 200 miles on its clock.

Out of the blue, my friend dropped the news that he was considering letting go of his long-term project. Given my interest over the years, it felt right to part ways with my ’32 Ford and make the purchase.

Once the deal was sealed, I started putting my touch on it.

The wheels? Those were the first to go; swapped them out for something a tad more my style. I added a durable stainless exhaust to give it that reliable and robust feel. I then fitted it with Wilwood brakes, some of the best in the business. The paint, though good, needed a bit of sprucing up, so I spent a good deal of time sanding and polishing until it had the right shine.

Of course, like with any car, there were some minor quirks to iron out. A squeak here, a rattle there, but nothing a bit of time in the garage couldn’t fix. All in all, a straightforward, dependable car.

Nothing too flashy, but reliable, well-crafted and so fun to drive!
