In June 1972, Mildred Nunn purchased a Chevrolet Rally Nova, one of 33,319 built that year. The car was recommended to her by her 19-year-old son, Charles Nunn, who later became the owner. The Rally Nova option was an appearance package with various features, including special decals and heavy-duty suspension. The car came equipped with a Turbo-Fire 307 V8 engine, a 3-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power drum brakes, tinted glass, and an AM radio.

In 1989, Charles inherited the Rally Nova after his father’s passing and made it his daily driver. He made several upgrades to improve the car’s performance, including installing a 4-barrel carburetor, a better camshaft, and a shift kit for the transmission. He also upgraded the wheels and headlights, and added a trailer hitch.

In 2001, the Rally Nova was involved in a rear-end collision but was restored and given a new paint job. Charles took the opportunity to upgrade the engine and transmission, install four-wheel disc brakes, and improve other components, resulting in a show-quality car.

In 2002, the Rally Nova participated in car shows and drag races, earning trophies at both. Charles also upgraded the car’s audio system and added driving lamps to the front bumper.

In August 2019, Charles’ wife insisted on adding air conditioning to the car due to the hot temperatures during car shows. He also made various other upgrades, including installing a new digital instrument panel, LED lights, and a new audio system.

By July 2022, the Rally Nova was back on the road with all the upgrades, and Charles was preparing to install BMR Torque Arm rear suspension to improve the car’s ride and handling further. In November 2022, the front coil over shocks was already installed.

In December 2022, Charles was preparing to install a Holley Sniper EFI system, completing the extensive restoration and upgrade project he had undertaken over the years.
