My dad purchased this Nova from the original owner in 1972 with 29,000 miles. My mom drove it for 4 yrs before parking it in the garage.

When I was 12, I started showing interest in cars, so my dad gave it to me. I tinkered with it, drove it, and played with it. With the help of my dad and my uncle, who ended up painting it for me, I was able to drive it to school for my senior year of high school.

I drove it for a few more years after that during my college years, and the car then sat for ten years until I decided to restore it as faithfully as possible to its original specs.  With the help of GM Classics, Lyn Smith, Eddie Leslie, National Nostalgic Nova, many trips to swap meets, and George Lucas straightening the trim, the car was ready for the Nova Nationals in 1996 where it took first place honors in its class and earned gold class status as well!

In 1997, the car retained its gold class status.

The car was shown all over the east coast and earned many awards over the next four years. Once she retired from the show circuit, I began enjoying driving her on weekends. The car has its original 194 6-cylinder engine along with a numbers-matching, air-cooled Powerglide transmission. The rear differential is also numbers-matching 8 1/8” pumpkin type rear.

In 2019, after narrowly escaping an accident due to the inadequate brakes that overheated and faded going down a mountain road in West Virginia, I made the decision to begin modernizing the car for safety, better handling and a more enjoyable drive.

I added Church Boys Racing complete front suspension with power disk brakes on the front and changed the wheels and tires to 17” for better handling.  I also installed a complete 1963 power steering setup with bearing kit for the idler arm for easier steering.  Also added was a stainless steel exhaust, stainless brake lines, and LED headlights.  All upgrades are bolt on in case the car needs to be put back to original.  I also added a Pertronix electronic ignition, rebuilt the carburetor, completely replaced the cooling system and recored the radiator.

To this day, the car runs wonderfully and is very reliable!
