NOVA NOTE:
WILL WORK ON STOCK 283 OR 327 BLOCK
FITS 350 2 & 4 BOLT MAIN WITH MODIFICATIONS (SEE PHOTOS BELOW)

2 BOLT MAIN
ORIGINALLY THE OIL PICK UP TUBE BRACKET ON THE NOVA 283/327 RAN DOWN BESIDE THE 2 BOLT MAIN CAP
AND WAS ATTACHED TO THE BLOCK WEBBING USING A BOLT.
IF YOU ARE USING A NON NOVA 283/327 THIS HOLE IS NOT IN THE WEBBING.
YOU CAN INSTALL THE PICK UP TUBE INTO THE PUMP MARK THE POSITION OF THE BRACKET ON THE BLOCK AND DRILL & TAP IT.
TAP SIZE IS ¼ -20. MAKE SURE YOU USE A GRADE 8 ¼ – 20 BOLT & LOCK WASHER.
NO MODIFICATIONS WILL HAVE TO BE MADE TO THE PICK UP TUBE MOUNTING BRACKET. (SEE PHOTO BELOW)

4 BOLT MAIN
WHEN USING A LATE MODEL 2 OR 4 BOLT MAIN NON NOVA BLOCK, THE PICK UPTUBE MOUNTING HOLE IS NOT IN THE WEBBING.
PT#01002-1 IS A NEW MAIN CAP BOLT WITH A STUD TO MOUNT THE MODIFIED PICK UP TUBE MOUNTING BRACKET.
THIS BOLT REPLACES THE STOCK MAIN CAP BOLT AND HAS TO BE TORQUED TO SPECS.
THIS BOLT IS INCLUDED WITH OUR V8 KITS.

MODIFIYING THE BRACKET
MODIFICATION TO THE PICK UP TUBE MOUNTING BRACKET WILL HAVE TO BE MADE TO WORK WITH THE NEW MOUNTING POSITION.
THE BRACKET CAN BE BENT TO MEET THE STUD AND A NEW HOLE DRILLED IN THE BRACKET TO FIT THE STUD ON TOP OF THE MAIN CAP BOLT. ANY EXCESS PART OF THE BRACKET MAY BE CUT OFF IF NEEDED. TO INSTALL THE PICK UP TUBE IN THE OIL PUMP YOU MAY NEED TO BEVEL THE EDGE OF THE PICK UP TUBE TO GET IT STARTED INTO THE OIL PUMP. USE A CRESCENT WRENCH TO INSTALL THE PICK UP TUBE SURROUNDING THE TUBE WITH THE WRENCH AND PUTTING IT AGAINST THE RIDGE.
THIS WILL PROVIDE A MEANS TO DRIVE IT IN WITH A HAMMER OR MALLET. PUTTING THE PICK UP TUBE IN THE FREEZER OVERNIGHT MAY HELP BY SHRINKING THE TUBE! PHOTOS OF A STOCK & MODIFIED MOUNTING BRACKET ARE BELOW, NO WELDING IS NEEDED
